Simbl is a way to textually generate diagrams. I wrote it so that I could track function calls at my programming job, because graphical diagramming tools are so unwieldy.
Every week my script scrapes the master lists of fanfiction from ArchiveOfOurOwn and compares it to the list of one week prior. Then it analyzes which ones are the fastest growing and updates this webpage with that list.
